FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here are the most frequently asked questions and answers about
photo shoots with newborns and older babies and families.
N E W B O R N S
When is the best time for a newborn photoshoot?
Babies are precious at any age but this tiny stage
won't last forever. Therefore I highly recommend a newborn photo shoot in the first 1-2 weeks after birth (day 5-14 after birth are the best).
My baby is older than two weeks—can we still schedule
a photoshoot?
Absolutely! Babies are precious at any age, and this
tiny stage won't last forever. Although I recommend a photo shoot in the first 1-2 weeks after birth, photos of your older newborn are still a beautiful memory. If you missed the early newborn phase, we can still create beautiful memories of your older baby. We can often take these sleepy, newborn-like photos even with babies up to 1 months old, depending on the baby's temperament and development. Furthermore, the photo shoot with older babies may take more time. Baby acne etc. can largely be removed during editing afterwards, which also might take a little longer depending on how much baby acne your baby has.

How long does a newborn session last?
My newborn sessions typically last 2 to 3 hours, giving
you ample time to relax, feed, and comfort your baby. I believe in taking things slow, so there’s no need to rush—we’ll work at your baby’s pace to capture those perfect moments.
Are sibling and family photos included?
Absolutely! Capturing the entire family is a vital part of
the experience. My newborn sessions include not only beautifully posed shots of your baby but also a mix of both posed and relaxed lifestyle images featuring the whole family, siblings included.

What should we bring and wear?
Don't worry - I've got you covered! Before your session,
you'll receive a detailed Welcome Guide with everything you need to know. You don't need to bring anything for your baby to wear; I have a lovely selection of wraps, blankets and simple but stylish baby clothes. A couple of bonnets and hairbands. As for your wardrobe, I recommend choosing neutral, light colors (white, beige tones) for a timeless look. If you are unsure or need inspiration, I can also lend you some clothes from my clients wardrobe. I’ll send you a Welcome Guide with a link to my growing clients wardrobe where you can check wardrobe pieces to lend during our session. The studio will be warmed up especially for your baby, which is why airy summery clothing and materials such as linen, cotton, silk etc. are recommended for the photo shoot. Try to avoid big logos or bold patterns.
What to bring to the session?
In my Welcome Guide, which I will send you after
booking and in good time before your session, you will find a small packing list as a guide.
What Is your photography style?
My photography style is all about keeping the focus on
your baby and family, with a modern and minimalist approach. I gravitate toward neutral colors and simplicity, using minimal props to ensure your baby remains the star of every image. This creates timeless, elegant photos that highlight the natural beauty of these precious moments. I blend intimate, candid moments with beautifully posed portraits to capture the essence of your family.
When should I book a session?
I recommend that you book your shoot as well in
advance as possible. I only book a limited number of sessions per month so that I can guarantee everyone a session, even if the date has to be postponed. The best time to book your newborn shoot is during your pregnancy. I will make a note of your due date and when the baby arrives, we will make a definite appointment. I recommend to reserve your session 2-3 months before your due date, ideally right after your 20-week scan. This ensures you secure a spot during that precious newborn window. If you haven’t booked in advance, don’t worry—reach out, and I’ll do my best to accommodate last-minute requests.
What if my baby is fussy?
A fussy baby is completely normal—there's no need to worry.
We’ll take our time and move at your baby’s pace. My approach is all about patience and understanding, so we’ll go with the flow. Rest assured, I’m here to create beautiful images, and soothing babies is just part of what I do.
Where do sessions take place?
Most newborn sessions are held at my beautiful natural light
studio in Thorstrup, located only about 10 minutes by car from Varde city centre and about 35-55 minutes from Esbjerg, Skjern & Ringkøbing. Note: I am currently working exclusively in my studio during my parental leave. From December 2025, all packages will include journeys within a radius of 30 kilometres from my studio in Thorstrup near Varde. In addition, there will be a surcharge of DKK 3.0 per kilometre driven. For journeys with a bridge surcharge, an individual price will be charged.

How to prepare for the Photo Shoot?
Preparing for Your Baby’s Session To ensure your little
one is sleepy and comfortable during the session, try feeding baby 2-3 hours before arriving at the studio, and plan for a quick feed once you arrive. After that initial feeding, it’s helpful to keep baby awake. You can try giving them a warm bath, a gentle massage, or tickling their toes. Avoid using a pacifier or bundling baby in too many blankets. If baby dozes off during the car ride, don’t worry—that’s completely fine! When you arrive, you’ll have time to undress and feed them again before we begin. Remember, these are simply guidelines to help encourage a relaxed, sleepy baby, but every little one is different. Follow your baby’s cues, and don't stress if they need extra sleep or a feed along the way. Your baby's comfort is our priority!

Every age has its own beauty, but if you're
