Some stories are not simply told – they are felt.
They unfold quietly, between distance and closeness, in the spaces where two lives begin to intertwine.

The Lume – Issue 02 is exactly that kind of story.

This second edition of my magazine invites you into a world where destination wedding elopements are not just a trend, but a deeply intentional way of choosing love. It is a space where light, emotion, and connection come together – where every image is created with devotion, and every story carries meaning beyond what is visible.

At the heart of this issue lies a story that embodies all of this: Jessika from Mexico and Etienne from France.

A Love That Crosses Borders

Some connections feel immediate. Others grow slowly, shaped by time and distance. Jessika and Etienne’s story holds both.

She, a dancer and artist traveling with a circus – always in motion, guided by rhythm, instinct, and freedom.
He, grounded in France, steady, thoughtful, deeply rooted in his world.

They met almost by chance.

And yet, from the very beginning, there was something undeniable – a quiet understanding, a sense of familiarity that didn’t need explanation.

Through handwritten letters, fleeting reunions, and weeks spent apart, they built something that many couples never experience: a love that is consciously chosen, again and again.

Their story became the emotional core of The Lume – Issue 02.

Gypsy Witch Meets Knight – A Story Told in Symbols

Within the pages of this issue, their love unfolds not only through images but through storytelling.

Jessika often described herself as a free-spirited gypsy witch – curious, intuitive, connected to movement and nature. Etienne, in contrast, became the French knight – grounded, loyal, rooted in tradition.

Together, they created their own narrative.
A world where both identities could exist side by side.

This symbolic language became a way for them to understand each other, to bridge their differences, and to build a shared path forward.

It is this depth that makes their story so compelling and so relatable for many international couples navigating love across cultures.

The Interview: Real, Honest and Unfiltered

One of the most intimate parts of The Lume – Issue 02 is the in-depth interview with Jessika and Etienne.

In “Binational Couple Spills The Tea”, they open up about their journey – the challenges, the decisions, and the moments that defined their relationship.

They speak about distance.
About navigating different nationalities.
About the reality of planning a life together across borders.

But more importantly, they speak about choice.

About what it means to wake up, again and again, and choose the same person – despite uncertainty, despite complexity.

For couples considering an international elopement in Denmark, their story offers both inspiration and reassurance: that love can find its way, even when the path is not straightforward.

Why Denmark Became Their “Yes”

For Jessika and Etienne, Denmark was not just a romantic destination, it was a solution.

Like many binational couples, they faced logistical challenges. Different passports, time restrictions, and administrative barriers made a traditional wedding difficult to realize.

Denmark offered something rare: simplicity.

A place where love is not defined by nationality, but supported by a system that allows couples to focus on what truly matters.

In The Lume – Issue 02, you’ll find a detailed guide on the required documents to get married in Denmark, helping couples navigate the process with clarity and ease.

Elevating Emotion Through Photography

At the core of The Lume is the art of photography.

In this issue, I take you behind the lens, sharing how I approach elopement photography – not as documentation, but as storytelling through light.

Because photography is not only about what you see.
It is about what you feel.

You’ll discover:

  • Unveiling the Beauty of Elopement Photography – how light, landscape, and emotion come together
  • 5 Reasons to Preserve Your Memories – why your images matter long after the day has passed
  • Myths About Macro Shots During an Elopement – exploring the small details that often go unnoticed

Every image is created with intention.
With presence.
With devotion.

A World of Inspiration

While Jessika and Etienne’s story forms the heart of this issue, The Lume – Issue 02 also takes you beyond Denmark.

You’ll find my Cape Town destination wedding elopement, where warm light, ocean air, and open landscapes create a completely different, yet equally powerful atmosphere.

This contrast highlights something essential:
An elopement is not defined by location.

It is defined by feeling. A feeling that I deeply share with all couples that decide to elope or plan a destination wedding (elopement).

The Cover Story: The Galecki’s

This issue also features The Galecki’s as the cover story – another reflection of modern love, captured through light and emotion.

Their story complements the narrative of Jessika and Étienne, offering a different perspective while holding the same core truth:
that love, in its most authentic form, is deeply personal.

Drawing with Light and Devotion

The subtitle of this magazine – Drawing with Light and Devotion – is more than a phrase.

It is the essence of my work.

To photograph is to observe.
To feel.
To translate what is invisible into something tangible.

With Jessika and Etienne, this process felt especially meaningful. Their connection was not loud, not performative: it was quiet, steady, and deeply rooted.

And that is exactly what I aim to capture.

Not perfection.
But truth.

The essence of your lovestory and unique connection.

For Couples Dreaming of Their Own Elopement

If you are currently planning your wedding in Denmark or Northern Germany – or feeling unsure about the traditional path – The Lume – Issue 02 is here to offer guidance, inspiration, and reassurance.

It invites you to ask:

What truly matters to us?
What do we want to feel on our wedding day?
What kind of memories do we want to create?

Because at the end of the day, your wedding is not about expectations.
It is about your story.
